Guardian of Mirewood
Once sworn to guard the resting souls of Mirewood, Morvayne was bound to the ancient shrine when the Crownless corrupted its sacred grounds. Now she commands the restless dead, striking down anyone who approaches the passage she once protected.
Her white hair and spectral halberd recall the guardian who once watched over the burial grounds. Mirebound Wraiths answer her call, while Gravecallers swell the host beneath her shrine. Freeing her from the corruption lets the Hollow Warden and the souls she guarded find rest.
The shrine awakens
Morvayne arrives 38 seconds into Wave 12 after a three-second shrine warning. She materializes from the shrine onto the existing road, with her name, title and boss health bar visible. The remaining wave groups precede her so the encounter stays readable.
Call of the Restless
At the first crossing of 75%, 50% and 25% health, she pauses to summon three existing Mirebound Wraiths. Each threshold is used once, for nine possible reinforcements. A hit that crosses multiple thresholds queues separate casts rather than overlapping them.
A cast lasts 1.6 seconds, releasing Wraiths at 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2 seconds. They appear at spaced positions along her route and keep their usual health, armor and phasing. Queued casts have at least two seconds of recovery. Killing Morvayne cancels unreleased summons.
Veil of the Dead
Every 20 seconds from an activation start, when she is free to cast, Morvayne can raise a spectral shield. Protection begins halfway through the one-second activation and lasts four seconds. It halves incoming physical damage on top of her 30% armor: an ordinary 100-point physical hit becomes 35 damage instead of 70.
Arcane and elemental magic receive no shield reduction. The visible barrier does not stack or grant invulnerability.
Warden’s Judgment
Every 14 seconds, when a living soldier or hero is within 80 units, she can swing her halberd for 80 area damage. The single impact lands 0.5 seconds into the attack. It damages nearby soldiers and heroes, respecting their defenses, but does not damage towers.
Move wounded heroes away and support Barracks with ranged damage. Her regular 42-damage melee attack strikes only its chosen victim.
Defeating the Hollow Warden
Use magic to bypass her physical defenses, prepare for the predictable health thresholds and keep defenders out of the halberd sweep. Her slow movement gives towers time to focus fire. Her statistics do not arbitrarily increase between phases.
Victory requires Morvayne’s death to resolve and all remaining wave enemies and summoned spirits to be cleared. If she reaches the exit, the existing boss escape rule causes defeat. Pause freezes her ability timers; death stops her casts and shield.
